A hunt with the Bobcat

Bobcats (Lynx rufus) are found in the forest, swamps, and hammock land habitats in Florida, often with a den in saw palmetto patches and shrub thickets. Bobcats are efficient hunters, preying on squirrels, rabbits, rats, and birds. They tend to be stealthy, making an encounter with a Bobcat an enjoyable experience.

I encountered this Bobcat while out exploring one morning, and it wasn’t long until he spotted movement in the nearby grass.

With steady focus, he slowly moved towards the prey, positioning for the attack. And then, the pounce…

With a meal secured, he turned back to show the catch before eating.

Then walked home with a full belly.
